National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization which recognizes individual students who meet their criteria. If you meet the criteria, you will be invited to apply for membership.

Criteria for membership:

Selection for membership in the NHS is made by a majority vote of the Faculty Council, with recommendations from Faculty.

The candidate must be a member of the Sophomore class and must have completed at least one semester at STISD Medical Professions. Including 9th grade and as determined by the principal, the candidate must have a minimum cumulative scholastic average of 95 with no grades being less than 80 at any time. Upon meeting the grade level, attendance, and scholastic average (GPA), candidates shall be evaluated based on their service, leadership, and character.

Once a candidate is eligible, a formal invitation will be extended. Candidates must complete the "Student Information and Acceptance Form" and submit it by the specified date. By failing to comply, the candidate forfeits the honor of becoming a member.
